This new report outlines MFIN’s activities since its launch, including the number of members, research projects, and Cultivate Michigan featured foods. MFIN is a space for learning, sharing, and working together to help farm to institution programs in Michigan grow. Launched in 2014, MFIN was designed to help institutions reach the Michigan Good Food Charter goal of sourcing 20% Michigan foods by 2020 and supports Michigan farmers and vendors in profitably supplying Michigan foods to institutions. Cultivate Michigan, which was launched at the same time as the network, is MFIN’s local food purchasing and tracking campaign. The MFIN team will work with its members throughout 2021 to set goals and prioritize activities for the coming years. Stay tuned for more information and ways to engage!
