July is National Blueberry Month!

July is National Blueberry Month and Michigan leads the nation in highbush blueberry production. We produces 32 percent of the blueberries eaten in the U.S.

Fresh blueberries can be purchased from mid-July through late September most years. The western Michigan counties of Allegan, Berrien, Muskegon, Ottawa and Van Buren are the largest producers of blueberries in the state. Blueberries are native to North America, taste great and are packed full of nutrients such as potassium, vitamins A and C.

Blueberries are a Cutlivate Michigan Featured Food, so of course you can find recipes learn where to source these little gems with our Blueberry Guide. You can also connect with Blueberry growers around the state this July & August at our many blueberry festivals
