For the first time, the Michigan Apple Crunch will join forces with the Great Lakes Apple Crunch for one great crunch, to celebrate the local apple harvest throughout the Great Lakes Region. Many schools, hospitals, early childhood programs and other organizations celebrate Michigan’s abundance of fresh, local produce by taking part in this fun, one-day event by planning to a collectively crunch into Michigan apples.
It is easy to participate – just register at this page, and provide some information about your organization and your Crunch plans. In return, you’ll get information about where to find local apples and how to promote your event. Share your event planning and follow along on Facebook @miapplecrunch.
As always, if October 10 doesn’t work for your school or organization, you can celebrate the Crunch at any time throughout the month of October.

- Check out Cultivate Michigan resources to help you promote them in your cafeterias and source Michigan apples from distributors and food hubs for your institutions.
- Visit the Michigan Apple Committee website that has searchable tools to help you find Michigan apples at farm markets and stores as well as activities for kids and resources for teachers.
- Go to Michigan Farm to School for a range of resources and tools to help with your ongoing farm to school work at schools and early child care and education sites.
